CGRS accepts Contractor Safety Excellence Award from DCP Midstream

DCP Midstream’s North Business Unit recently recognized the CGRS Environmental Services Energy team with a 2019 Contractor Safety Excellence Award. CGRS is one of only five contractors recognized in the DCP’s North Region, which includes Weld County and Colorado’s Western Slope as well as Michigan.

“CGRS has been an outstanding partner to us in every way to keep us in good graces on our LDAR (Leak Detection and Repair) program …,” said Stephanie Brunk, DCP Midstream Roggen Plant Supervisor, in nominating CGRS for the award. “They are organized, professional, and we can trust them in all aspects of our relationship.”

Jeremy George, manager of Health/Safety and Process Safety Management for the DCP Midstream North Business Unit, said open and effective communication weighed heavily in the decision to honor CGRS.

“It’s obviously a partnership between two companies,” he said. “We like to partner with people who care about it like we do.”

George said the North Region had had no recordable contractor injuries from its different work groups, which have put in over 1.2 million man hours so far this year. Contractors who contribute to such an accomplishment deserve recognition.

“It’s a joint effort to make that work,” he said. “We appreciate you guys.”

Eric Hick, CGRS President/CEO, said he is proud of his team and humbled by the award.

“Safety is at the top of the core values list for a reason,” he said. “It’s the most important aspect of our work and it’s an added bonus to work with people who share those values.

“Many of our customers would say that safety is a given, but safety comes at a cost: it’s an investment in our people and work product that benefits CGRS and their customers,” Hick added. “Our Energy Team is doing a great job representing CGRS and our core values.”
