Employee Spotlight: Justin Whittaker Joins the Water & Wastewater Division

Justin has been in the civil and commercial construction world for nearly 30 years. He has run the gamut of commercial and residential construction roles, performed erosion control on large heavy civil highway projects, owned his own company focused on heavy civil, underground utility, and wastewater work; and is now moving into a new role utilizing his expertise to help CGRS fine tune and build their water and wastewater presence.

When asked about his philosophy for success he simply said that he isn’t one to say no to an opportunity. If he doesn’t know how to do something, he finds someone who does to teach him. And he isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty. His experiences have taught him that the more you are willing to reach for, the more you find yourself capable of.

Justin became aware that CGRS was looking to expand their Water and Wastewater Division and reached out to CGRS CEO Eric Hick. Since joining the team Justin has had nothing but praise for the employees that now make up his team. In his words, “There is a solid foundation here, a wonderful team in the field and rockstars in the office keeping things moving. And its not just my team, I’ve been blown away to see how other departments are willing to step in and support wherever it is needed. It is very cool to come into an environment like this, I’m excited I get the opportunity to take what is here and do something more with it.”

So what does the future look like for Justin Whittaker and the Water and Wastewater Division at CGRS? With a focus on trust and communication within the team and sights firmly set on healthy growth, we’d say it looks bright! Be on the lookout for more updates! And welcome to CGRS Justin! We’re glad to have you.
