The CGRS Compliance Services Department performs testing and inspections on fueling systems and cargo vessels to meet local, state, and federal regulatory requirements. CGRS develops customized and cost-effective solutions to meet the unique needs of your business. Our highly trained technicians build on years of experience to provide our clients with the most current and proven methods available.
CGRS performs testing for all types of storage tank and line systems. Services performed by our Compliance Department include:
- Tank and Line Tightness Testing: Including volumetric and non-volumetric testing of underground storage tanks (USTs), aboveground storage tanks (ASTs), and product piping.
- Electronic/Mechanical Leak Detector Testing: To ensure the equipment is functioning properly and to meet the testing requirement for automatic line leak detectors, CGRS performs calibrated leak simulations to verify positive shut down or flow restriction.
- Cathodic Protection (CP) System Testing: Our NACE certified Corrosion Testers test and inspect both impressed current and galvanic systems to ensure they are providing adequate corrosion protection to all metal portions of the fueling system which come in contact with the ground and which routinely contain product.
- Automatic Tank Gauge (ATG) Calibration and Maintenance: To provide the required ATG servicing and operational verification as specified by the manufacturer.
- ATG Remote Monitoring, Troubleshooting and Reporting: Including the initialization of remote monitoring at our clients’ headquarters or ours, troubleshooting alarms, and/or providing monthly remote fuel system compliance reporting and monitoring for most major brands of ATGs.
- Dispenser Meter Calibrations: Ensures fuel dispensing accuracy in accordance with NIST Handbook 44, Section 3.30 Liquid Measuring Devices and applicable federal and state regulations.
- Equipment Survey and Facility Inspections: Performed to document the current facility condition, equipment, and compliance status and are useful in property transactions or as a facility management tool. This service can be customized to collect and/or document client-specified information.
- Tank Cleaning and Fuel Polishing: May include either manned-entry power-washing or the employment of our closed loop fuel filtration system and is often used to remove water and sludge from fuel.
- Fuel Maintenance Program: Effective when implemented on fuel stored for long periods of time as with backup generator systems. Includes fuel sampling, analysis and possible implementation of an additive program to prevent repolymerization.
- Secondary Containment Testing: Testing currently required in California to meet SB 989 requirements which includes testing of UST annular space, secondary containment piping, under-dispenser containment, turbine sumps and over-spill buckets.
- Enhanced Leak Detection Pre-Testing: Testing required in California for any UST system installed prior to July 1, 2003 and located within 1,000 feet of a public drinking water well.
- AST and UST Tank Inspection Services: This service is provided by our American Petroleum Institute (API) certified above-ground storage tank inspector and includes ultrasonic testing, and internal and external visual inspections.
